Benahavís

Benahavís is the smallest municipality in the region by population but one of the wealthiest by reputation, a whitewashed hillside village perched in the foothills of the Serranía de Ronda, ten minutes inland from the coast. The area is best known for its collection of ultra-private gated communities — La Zagaleta, El Madroñal, La Quinta, Los Arqueros, and Marbella Club Golf Resort — where villas routinely trade between €3 million and €30 million and security, panoramic sea views, and on-site amenities (horseback riding, helipads, private clubhouses) are non-negotiable standards. Despite the trophy positioning, Benahavís also offers a surprising value tier: modern townhouses in established communities such as La Heredia or La Campana start around €350,000, and three-bedroom apartments in La Quinta Hills are available from €400,000. The gastronomic centre of the village itself — fifteen restaurants concentrated in a single square — is widely regarded as the best dining destination between Marbella and Estepona.
