Benahavís is the smallest municipality in the region by population but one of the wealthiest by reputation, a whitewashed hillside village perched in the foothills of the Serranía de Ronda, ten minutes inland from the coast. The area is best known for its collection of ultra-private gated communities — La Zagaleta, El Madroñal, La Quinta, Los Arqueros, and Marbella Club Golf Resort — where villas routinely trade between €3 million and €30 million and security, panoramic sea views, and on-site amenities (horseback riding, helipads, private clubhouses) are non-negotiable standards. Despite the trophy positioning, Benahavís also offers a surprising value tier: modern townhouses in established communities such as La Heredia or La Campana start around €350,000, and three-bedroom apartments in La Quinta Hills are available from €400,000. The gastronomic centre of the village itself — fifteen restaurants concentrated in a single square — is widely regarded as the best dining destination between Marbella and Estepona. Benahavís is for buyers who want seclusion, altitude, and uninterrupted views, while remaining within ten minutes of the beach, the international schools, and Puerto Banús.
